In the recent research it has been found that eating Red meat has increased the risk of type 2diabetes. The studies revealed that eating red meat has increased the risk; however replacing it with a different healthier food will decrease the risk of type 2 diabetes.
Tests have been conducted to find out how many people have been affected by red meat. In figures, out of 442,101 people, 28,228 were affected by type 2 diabetes. Looking at their age, lifestyle, diet factors, it was found that 100 gram of red meat was being processed in to the body and increasing the risk factor to 19 per cent. Even if the daily dose of red meat has been reduced to half, it was still on a risk of 51 per cent.
From the results above, it clearly indicates the risk of type2 diabetes on the consumption of red meat. The good news however is, that red meat can be replaced with any other nutritious food decreasing the risk factor. It has also been advised by the researchers, that the quantity of red meat in the products like bacon, sausage, hotdog etc, should be reduced or replaced.
The type 2 diabetes is basically linked to physical inactivity, unhealthy diet and obesity. Due to this, the diabetic levels have affected about 350 million people. In U.S 25.6 million people over the age of 20 -25 are affected by this disease.
Red meat earlier was considered as protein foods like the eggs, poultry, nuts, beans, fish and soy products. However, as red meat is having negative effect on health by increasing the risk of diabetes, heart diseases etc, it will be distinguished from the healthier protein food.
